With a little help from my friends.

I've been watching Friends, Skyping with friends and family back home, reading and appreciating the messages you all have sent me.

And even when I feel just awful, my God, what love surrounds me.

Obsessed with this site right now.
“Ross, hi.  It’s Rachel.  I’m just calling to say that, um, everything’s fine.  And I’m really happy for you and your cat - who, by the way, I think you should name Michael.  And, you know, you see there, I’m thinking of names, so, obviously, I am over you.  am over you.  And that, my friend, is what they call closure.”

Also, I am the kind of person that has to have closure. Has to. I can't decide if it's a good thing or not, but really, it helps me. So who cares what everyone else thinks?

Pin It Now!

  1. I'm the kind of person who needs closure, too. Even if it comes ten years later, which is pretty sad, I say, but we can't control everything in life, right? Anyhow, hope you feel better soon. I know that when we're in the midst of heartache, nothing anyone says actually makes us feel better or magically takes the pain away, but I really do hope that you can smile from your heart again. Very soon. And from someone who is very familiar with heartbreak, I say this, we do get over it. I'm sure you know that, too. But, hopefully, there's some comfort in hearing it again. In hearing that the sadness and pain that's weighing on your heart will go away. And one day, you may even wonder when and where it went. :)

    1. Thanks so much, Mae. I don't think ten years later is a problem at all! I'm like martha stewart in that I want everything to be categorized , labeled, boxed up, and shelved. It makes me think it's done and easier...but the best part about it is the saying everything you need to say without ever wondering "Hmm... what if I had said that..."

I'm feeling a bit better already, but the sting is very much making itself known. Le sigh.. All in time. :)

  2. over me?

    youre over me?

    when were you UNDER me?

haahahahaha....classic!! i love love love im off to visit the site youre obsessed with :)

    1. YES. I love Friends. It is amazing.

  3. oh, what a trip down memory lane reading that site!!! thanks for sharing :-) I never used to think closure was important, or even really realised what it meant.....until I spent over a year waiting and hoping for someone who had long since moved on. One day something he said hit me like a ton of bricks and I realised that was the closure i'd needed. felt so free....hope you get it too! I don't comment much but i'm a regular reader and I love your sweet blog!

    1. Oh friend, it's amazing the power words have over us, right? I think sometimes even the things they say allow for one last, "ok, that's what I though. Now I know."

Thank you so much for reading my blog--it means more than you would ever know.

And here's to closure and new adventures!
