{Quote of the Week.}

week {dreiundachtzig};

[Luebeck, Germany. Summer 2005.]
“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.”

  1. that's a really great quote. and reminds me of the move Pleasantville when they started living life with a bit of risk and challenging ideas and they began turning to color. Now I want to watch it again! :)

  2. Really love the idea of body bearing witness to the collision of ourselves with the earth. So lovely!

  3. what a great quote. i've experienced that kind of adventure - only a couple times - but they were the scariest, most liberating experiences i've ever had. definitely worth it!
