he's just not that into me.
"Because If He Likes You,
Trust Me, He Will Ask You Out."
  • An excuse is a polite rejection. Men are not afraid of “ruining the friendship.”
  • Don’t get tricked into asking him out. If he likes you, he’ll do the asking.
  • If you can find him, then he can find you. If he wants to find you, he will.
  • Just because you like to lead doesn’t mean he wants to dance. Some traditions are born of nature and last through time for a reason.
  • “Hey, let’s meet at so-and-so’s party/any bar/friend’s house” is not a date. Even if you live in New York.
  • Men don’t forget how much they like you. So put down the phone.
  • You are good enough to be asked out.
-He's just not that into you.
really blog-o-sphere, is this true?
what do you all really think?

yummy insight.

happy saturday darlings!!

its quite beautiful here in Kansas today & i'm craving some delicious bbq...
& that got me thinking about a wonderful website that has lots of goodies slathered in some good ole' bbq...!
BBQ Chicken Pizza
Worthy of a Special Occasion

Online reviews raved about the contrast of flavors provided by tangy tomato chutney, savory chicken, and sharp cheddar cheese. If you can't find tomato chutney, make your own using the recipe provided, or use store-bought barbecue sauce.

6 servings (serving size: 1 wedge)

  • 1 (10-ounce) Italian cheese-flavored thin pizza crust (such as Boboli)
  • 3/4 cup tomato chutney
  • 2 cups chopped roasted skinless, boneless chicken breasts (about 2 breasts)
  • 2/3 cup diced plum tomato
  • 3/4 cup (3 ounces) shredded extra-sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup chopped green onions

Preheat oven to 450°.

Place crust on a baking sheet. Bake at 450° for 3 minutes. Remove from oven; spread chutney over crust, leaving a 1/2-inch border.

Top chutney with chicken. Sprinkle diced tomato, cheese, and green onions evenly over chicken. Bake at 450° for 9 minutes or until cheese melts. Cut pizza into 6 wedges.

Note: If you can't find tomato chutney, make your own. Combine 2 cups diced plum tomato, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 3 tablespoons cider vinegar, 1/8 teaspoon Jamaica├▒ jerk seasoning, and 1 minced garlic clove in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium; cook 20 minutes or untril thickened.

it sounds absolutely scrumptious!!mmm...enjoy!

be sure to check out their plethora of delicious recipes for many other amazing dishes!

Love for Eternity.

this weekend i visited my grandma allen's grave for the first time since the funeral. it was very hard, but oddly, quite {peaceful} & {consoling}.& as i stood surrounded by graves of many other people's loved ones, it made me wonder how strong the world is, and where that strength comes from...
then it dawned on me; Love.
Love helps us continue on, knowing that love is for eternity.
thats a lot of love.
as my heart panged with sadness & overwhelming emotions while standing at my gma allen's grave, i felt a comforting sense surround me... & i recited a poem i once read:
i think my gma allen reminded me of it & i know she was right there, as she always is.
in my heart. i love you grandma.

I hope your Memorial Day is just as beautiful as my visit to my gma allen was.

"In our hearts there is a promise that says death can never win. And a hope that will sustain us until we meet again."

My roaring twenties...

{halloween, 2007.}
today, 20 years ago,
i was brought into this crazy, exciting, enormous, b-e-a-utiful world.
& while the years gone by have been filled with a plethora of wonderful events and amazing memories and friends who have come & gone-- i look forward to the years ahead with an open heart... with hopes & dreams which are far to vast and plentiful to be contained in a single town.
thank you to all who have made these twenty year so very happy, & i thank God for blessing me with such companions to guide & accompany me.

so today i embark on my first day as a non-teen... it was an interesting stretch of time, however, i am oh so ready to live my roaring twenties.

how i do hope so.

my wonderful friend liz & i absolutely love to explore anything weddings--
from the dress to the cake we seem to have many ideas & preferences. {however, i lack one minor detail, a boy.} haha.
i was extremely elated whenever i found note reading:
"you in a nutshell." on my facebook with a link to these beautiful pictures....
thanks liz-- you know me all to well.
however, whether or not i actually can pull off such a look is another thing...
a girl can dream, can't she?

A Summer Philosophy

{via: flickr.}
"Life, i really believe, is about falling in love. with ideas, with stories, with experiences, mistakes, adventures, poetry, imaginations, old books, new books, movies, music, and, of course, people. everything that is worthwhile in this world is worth falling in love with, and i can’t imagine a better way to live one’s life than to be always head over heels."

tales from aunt-hood...

my niece carolyn last night at st.lawrence's luau, talking to my friend jimmy. {isn't she too cute!}
...she is "a lot like her aunt anna" in regards to her outgoing-ness... according to some of my friends. woot!

oh & today my 5 year old nephew nathan informed me of the following:

"Anna, did you know that even if a boy was invisible and he hid--a girl could find him cause girls can smell fear!"

i could not be anymore serious. he told me this over lunch in a very serious tone. ha!

oh how i do love being an aunt!

what should i be doing, you ask?

...oh, you know. writing a paper on something,
with sources from somewhere "credible",
[note: supposedly "books" are better sources than the "interweb".]
about someone who said it, and apparently knows more than i do
because their "book" was in the "library".

{via: julia.}
but really. anyone can write a "book"
and bind it & donate it to a library...
so really, how do i know
they weren't just really rich.
and didn't have to work
so they had a lot of time
so they just decided
to make up stuff
and have it bound &
proceed to donate copies to
various libraries? know....?

i suppose i'll have to follow the guidelines and find

"credible" sources. even if were written in 1963 &
the pages are faded to barely readable.

just saying.

in the time i wrote this post i could have found my "first source".
but my beloved reader's, you mean far more to me than a silly paper...
